WHAT'S UP WEDNESDAY
Water water everywhere . . . and in this case there's way too many to choose from to drink. That's right, I'm talking about H20.
This month's WHAT'S UP topic is highlighting the importance of hydration and a new water product that I'm kinda obsessed with. But before I get to the good stuff, here are some fun facts and info you should be aware of.
Did you know that 75% of the American population is walking around dehydrated? Did you know that once you are thirsty, it is too late, dehydration has already started to set in? The average person should consume between 8-10 glasses of water each day. More if you're an athlete and more if you're also loading up on caffeinated beverages. When you exercise and sweat, you lose water and you need to replenish your body's water intake to make up for what you have sweat out. Water is good for you skin, hair and overall health. Staying hydrated is one way you can help reduce your chances of some diseases.
O.K. so get where I'm going with this? WATER IS IMPORTANT. And not just if you're an athlete or exercise regularly. If you are an avid exerciser, you might also be looking at all the sports drinks out there chock full of electrolytes etc. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the typical sports drinks. I don't like the flavors, they're too sweet for me. And most of them are packed with tons of sugar and extra calories I don't particularly want to consume. Even the "ZERO" sport drinks bother me because they taste sort of artificial. I tend to just stick with regular water, but there are definitely times when I will reach for a Gatorade or Vitamin Water during a hard workout to help boost my electrolytes.
Well as of lately, thanks to one of my clients, I've been reaching for AQUAHYDRATE. She gave me a case of it to try and I've been drinking it ever since. What's AQUAHYDRATE? Well, it's water. But more importantly, it's electrolyte enhanced water with a higher pH level (pH9+ to be exact) than other beverages on the market. Best of all, its calorie and sugar free. I want to point out that I am not getting paid or being rewarded in anyway by AQUAHYDRATE or my client to write this. If you know me, you know I speak my mind and when I like something, I TELL EVERYONE. And when I don't like something, I TELL EVERYONE. I've been drinking this water for the last three weeks now and I love it and definitely feel a difference in my workouts. I feel better and my recovery is quicker. Let's be truthful here, for me it's not just about the water itself. Sure it tastes good. Like crisp clean water, simple. But I'm also a sucker for "bright shiny" things. I like AQUAHYDRATE's packaging. And well, since we're being totally honest, I like (more like love) that Boston's own Mark Wahlberg is one of the faces behind this water, along with Sean P. Diddy Combs. I remember seeing them promote this new business partnership on the Ellen Show last year and I wanted to try the water but at the time, it wasn't available on the east coast. But now it is.
Look I'm not promising you that you're going to get super fit drinking this water. Maybe you won't even like it. But I like it and I thought I'd share this little gem with my fans. So the next time you shop the aisles of your local supermarket or reach for a sports drink, why not give AQUAHYRDATE a try?
When I drink it I like to pretend that Mark Wahlberg is cheering me on and working out next to me. (Have you seen this man? Talk about fit. )
Look there's Mark smiling at me :) No it's jut clip art, but can't a girl dream? |
