MOVE IT MONDAY

Hey there! Happy Summer!

The summer is a great time to get outside and burn off some of those BBQ calories. Best of all it's the perfect time to take advantage of all the great parks and fields in your local area. Some of my best workouts have been done with no equipment at all and a little imagination.

I'm fortunate enough to be surrounded by several parks and athletic complexes. Cushing Park and Bowditch Field are two of my favorite outdoor "gyms" come the summer. Below, here is a workout you can try at your local park or field.  Don't have benches at your local park? No worries, you can sub out step-ups with walking lunges or do triceps pushups in place of dips. Be creative!

Cushing Park Sweat Session

-Run the outer loop 1X -1.5 miles
-Run the inner loop 1X -1mile, but this time stop at benches & perform 20-30 secs of strength exercises. (Make sure you only do 1 exercise at a bench grouping and then run to the next bench grouping and perform a different exercise)

  •  Pushups
  • Alternating Step Ups
  • Dips
  • Burpees
  • Squats
  • Mountain Climbers
  • Rotating Planks

-Run the inner loop 1X -1 mile
