Tasty Thursday -Dark Chocolate Cherry Protein Bites

I'm hungry just writing this. I am always looking for a healthy tasty treat for right after a workout or for those moments after dinner when I'm sitting watching T.V. and my sweet tooth kicks in. Well these fab little balls of deliciousness are the perfect solution.I adapted this recipe from one I originally found on Pinterest. Personally I think my version is tastier and it also has more protein per serving.  Enjoy :)Dark Chocolate Cherry Protein BitesIngredients:1 cup almonds1 cottage cheeseCinnamonNutmeg1cup rolled oats4 scoops Trader Joes brand Vanilley Whey Powder1/4 cup dried cherries1/4 cup unsweetened coconut1/4 cup Carl chocolate chips1 tablepoon of pure maple syrup, honey or agave ( optional)Place almonds in a food processor and pulse until ground into flour like powder. Add in the cottage cheese, sweetener, cinnamon, nutmeg and continue processing until paste like. In a separate bowl mix all remaining ingredients. Add the wet ingredients and mix thoroughly. Form into small balls and place on wax paper and put in freezer for at least 30 minutes. Take out 5 minutes before eating. They will keep about a week and make 18-20. Each ball is about 91 calories and contains 6.5 grams of protein.
